This collection consists of questions and testimony recorded during the 1974 Beaverhead County court hearing regarding the state of Montana's purchase of Beaverhead Rock to establish a historical landmark. The pertinent issues include the appropriateness of the purchase and the difficulties involved in setting a price. E.E. "Boo" MacGilvra played an important role in the price negotiations (although the tape ends before the cross-examination of MacGilvra). The Montana Dept. of Fish and Game assumed the lead role in the purchase transaction.
